Space to Reflect, Strength to Lead: Inside the PSF Women Leaders Retreat

The last two days were a beautiful reminder of what happens when leaders are given space to pause, reflect, and learn together. We had the humbling privilege of spending time with 25+ inspiring Women Business Leaders, thanks to the PSF Specialized Cluster, at a refreshing retreat in La Pallisse Hotel- Gashora, along the calm shores of Lake Bugesera.

This wasn’t just a retreat — it was a moment to slow down, reconnect with purpose, and honestly examine how we lead ourselves and others. As conversations flowed, a shared truth emerged: many women leaders are stepping into bigger responsibilities in 2026, yet rarely get the space to realign, gain clarity, and strengthen their leadership approach. As StrateScope , we were honored to facilitate Transformational Leadership conversations around self-awareness, communication, trust-building, organizational growth and talent management, as well as governance and strategy. The room was open, reflective, and deeply engaged. What encouraged us most was hearing how the learning immediately translated into action. One leader shared, “I will start to empower my team members by improving both their performance and relationships, — training those who need skills or relational support, repositioning those in the wrong roles, and improving underperformance using a clear, documented process.” — Nicole Tuyisenge Another reflected simply yet powerfully, “I am going to practice the Six-Step Apology.” — Christine Uwimanihaye Across the room, the sentiment was the same — the training was practical, relevant, and deeply useful. By the end, clarity had replaced uncertainty, confidence had grown, and leaders left feeling grounded, empowered, and ready for the journey ahead. Seeing that kind of shift is our joy. Grateful to the PSF -Specialized Cluster and GIZ Rwanda-Burundi for the trust, and to every woman leader who showed up fully. 2026 is being prepared for — intentionally and with courage.
